The vast majority of students arrive through Local Authority transport and they are aware that the school gates open at 08:50 to ensure staff are available to supervise students transitioning from the taxi to the school. Forest Moor School provides 26.5 hours a week of education; lunch time, nurture breakfast and vagal breaks are all part of our SEMH curriculum and provide opportunities for planned interventions and sessions.

North Yorkshire Local Authority have asked Special Schools to adopt the Local Government Ombudsman report Out of School… out of mind to identify what a full time offer for education is. Forest Moor school provides between 3 and 1.5 hours more education than the recommended hours.
